SURPRISE!!!!
Mom and Dad surprised me with a long weekend in Madrid!
When we got home on Friday after school, they told us to pack a suitcase because we were leaving for Madrid on Saturday morning. They said we’d be spending Saturday to Tuesday in Madrid for a fun, sightseeing long weekend.
We left around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. We stopped for lunch along the way and arrived in Madrid around 3:00 p.m. We dropped our stuff off at the hotel and walked to the city center. We wandered around and saw the Puerta de Alcalá, Puerta del Sol, Km 0, the Palacio Real and other sights.
The next morning, we did a free walking tour around Madrid. Unfortunately, it was really, really cold and raining the whole time. After the tour I had to go and buy new shoes since mine were soaked. In the afternoon, we walked around some more, and then Mom and Dad took us to a theater and surprised us with tickets to see Mago Pop!!! I was so excited!!!! The show was amazing, it was such a fun experience!
The next day, we walked around more and then visited the Museum of Illusions.
On the drive home, we stopped in Burgos and saw the Cathedral.
